I beg to acknowledge the receipt of the letters of Dr. Richard Spruce¹ to the late Daniel Hanbury², and to thank the Chairman of the Pharmaceutical Society for lending them to me. As it may be some considerable time before I can look through the whole of them and extract the portions that be suitable for [2] publication in the work I am editing. I presume there will be no objection to my retaining them for a few months.
