My dear Sharpe[,]
I am preparing for publication most of my Review & other articles including one on ''New Guinea & its Inhabitants''. For this and others I am getting as many illustrative Cuts & photographs as I can to make the volume more generally attractive. Among others I should like to show the new types of Birds of Par. that have been recently described. I propose to give a photo. from Meyer's figure of the wonderful Pteridophora alberti1, and I should like to give also Astrarchia Stephania2, — Paradisorius Rudolphi3, and [2] any other distinct <forms?> that may have been figured. Can you let me have on loan or to purchase uncoloured plates of the above-named, with permission to give photographic reproductions of them? [O]r reduced woodcuts? — [A]nd if you can tell me of any other quite distinct & stricking [sic] forms of birds from New Guinea which have been figured, & where, I shall be much obliged.
Hoping that yourself and family are in good health,
Believe me │ Yours very faithfully | Alfred R. Wallace [signature]
