My dear Sharpe[,]
Carpococcyx is given from Sumatra in both Bonaparte's Conspectus1 & Schlegel's Mus. des Pays Bas.2 — the latter certainly a good authority. Pityriasis is given for Sumatra in G. R. Gray's3 Hand List, — I presume on the authority of one of the two authorities he <quote?> or of specimens in 1811.
Yours faithfully[,]
Alfred R. Wallace [signature]
R. B. Sharpe Esq.
