Dear Sharpe

Have you got together any general list of African Birds you could lend me? Or have you added to your original catalogue, or to Gray[']s1 Hand List2, the new species and new localities? If you have, & could lend it me for a few days I should be much obliged. If you have nothing of the kind, will you tell me how far Hartlaub3 & Finsch[']s4 volume on Birds of East [2] Africa5 is a complete synopsis & what are its Geog[raphical] limits[?] Looking at it the other day at the Zool[ogical]. Soc[iety]. it seemed to me not to purport to be complete, is this so?

An early reply will oblige.

Yours very truly | Alfred R. Wallace [signature]
