Dear Sharpe
I write to stir you up again about the Madagascar birds. I enclose a list copied from P.3.S. 1866. which I think is more complete than in Pollen's1 work. However[,] it will serve you as a basis to add any thing you know of. In P.3.S. you will find some notes on synonymy wh[ich]. will show you sometimes what his names mean.
In your list of additions put where they come "next no. —" of my list.
I shall be much obliged also if you will put in the first column what you consider the right genus, as Schlegel2 is so very loose on this point; and on the r[igh]t. hand side note if species is peculiar to Madagascar [2] or the Mascarene Islands. — or if the genus is so. "P. sp." "P. g." — will do for Peculiar species Peculiar genus — For all others note the range simply — as Wide — African, — Indian — Malayan.
Also note birds of doubtful affinity — with your idea.
If you can let me have the list pretty soon I shall be obliged as I am now finishing up my chapters3 on each region.
Hoping Mrs. Sharpes & your [3] little men[?] are quite well[.]
