Dear Mr. Wallace,
I have fathomed the mystery. I gave the Daily Mail representative a marked copy of the R. S. Fellows. The name of portrait[?] forms on the preceding page, Turner, was marked & the mark shows through. It is a sort of accident. I see that your repudiation has been published. I don’t know anything of any other name; if there was, it may have been due to a like cause. But I am not a regular reader of the Daily Mail, & haven’t noticed the fact you mention.
Yours faithfully | William Ramsay [signature]
