Dear Sir,
Many thanks for the S[outh]. American necklace; received today. I think we shall be pleased to accept this for the B[ritish]. M[useum]., & will look up the relevant passage in Spruce's book.
Before finally deciding however, I should like to consult our existing specimens from the Amazon, which are still evacuated but expected back fairly soon 1. They may contain something identical, in which case, I should hardly feel justified in [2] keeping yours. But I am pretty sure yours will be welcome.
Yours faithfully | H. J. Braunholtz [signature]
