Dear Sir,
You will by this time have received the thanks of the Trustees of the British Museum for the MSS. and correspondence of your father, Alfred Russell Wallace, O.M., which you have been good enough to present to the national collection.
Amongst the correspondence, there are some papers which seem of insufficient importance to warrant their permanent preservation. I should be greatly obliged if you would inform me whether I may return these papers.[sic] to you.
Yours faithfully, | A. T. Collins[signature]
