The above Union assembled in conference on Sunday Jan. 9th, in the Armley Spiritualist Church – desire me to express their heartiest congratulations to you upon the attainment of your ninetieth birthday, also to express their appreciation of your splendid life and the great services you have rendered to humanity, to express also their gratitude for the valuable service you have rendered to our own beloved cause, services which in very truth have helped men to understand, to know and follow the truth.

May many vigorous years of earth life be your portion to carry on your campaign against all the evil that weigh upon our common humanity[.]
