The Curator2 has asked me to thank you for the U[nited]. S[tates]. Geological Survey, Atlas3 which arrived this morning. It arrived in very good condition owing to your excellent packing, and we have never seen so much care taken over sending a book with its metal protection for the corners etc[etera].

Penniman, Thomas Kenneth (1895-1977) American-born naturalised British anthropologist. He was Director (or Curator as it was then known) of the Pitt Rivers Museum in Oxford 1939-1963.
