I’m away from Oxford, & your letter about the betel2 box was sent on.
Though we have a good many, the name of the collector is a powerful magnet to Oxford, & we’[ha]d better have the box, because he collected it.

The leaf of the vine Piper betle is valued both as a mild stimulant and for its medicinal properties. Betel leaf is mostly consumed in south east Asia.
