The British Museum, dedicated to human history, art and culture was established in Bloomsbury, London in 1753.
An island at the southern end of Maritime Southeast Asia, north of the Timor Sea. In The Malay Archipelago Chapter 13 ARW describes short visits in 1857 and 1859 to Coupang, the chief Dutch town at the west end of the island and in 1861 four months at Delli, the capital of the Portuguese possessions in the eastern part of the island.
