Dear Sir2,

You would give me great pleasure in accepting the description of my travels, I have ordered my publisher to send you. I hope that my pictures and descriptions may call back to you the remembrance of the magnificent scenery of the Rio Uaupés3 and the amiable inhabitants of his shores, whose acquaintance to make you [sic] were the first explorer 60 years ago. Long before [2] I started for my journey I had learned to love those countries and people from the vivid descriptions of your excellent work4.

Believe me | Dear Sir | always yours. | Theodor Koch-Grünberg5. [signature]
