Dear Sir2
Your letter of June the 17th. written to my Mother3 who died more than a year ago, has come into my hands. And I regret to say that my Father4 left so many letters it was found quite [2] impossible to read them. There were many thousands which have had to be destroyed[.] There are also a large quantity of what my Father regarded as "Special letters" which he wished read before being destroyed, those I am going through and if I come across [3] any of D[octo]r. Alfred Russel Wallace’s I will let you see them.
Yours truly | C. F. A. Voysey5. [signature]
