C. G. Barrett Esq.

Dear Sir

I am preparing a new ed[ition]. of "Island Life", and wish to bring up to date the species or varieties of Lepidoptera not yet found elsewhere than in the British Isles. I shall be much obliged if you will look over the list in the last edition, (proof sent), and also take note of the eliminations & additions Mr. Warren has kindly made on the authority of Meyrick's2 Handbook. Both [2] Mr. Warren and Prof. R. Meldola3 recommend me to consult you.

Believe me | Yours very truly | Alfred R. Wallace [signature]

P. S. Mr. Warren has ticked off, in the proof, the species that, according to Meyrick, are also Continental. If you disagree with any of these identification please note them with brief reasons.

A. R. W.
