Dear Sir,

I have to thank you for your letter of Jan. 20th. I will arrange that the pension shall be made payable to you on behalf of Mr. and Miss Wallace. It may be a week or so before the formalities can be completed, as it is usual to deal with these pensions in batches.

May I ask that the matter may be treated as confidential until an announcement is made to Parliament next July of the award of Civil List Pensions during the current financial year?
