The month is presumably March (iij). The year is deduced from birth and death dates of author.
Prain, David (1857-1944) Scottish physician and botanist. He was Director of the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew 1905-1922.
Hill, Arthur William (1875-1941), joined Kew as Assistant Director under David Prain in 1907 and started contributing to the floras of Africa and India. He succeeded Prain as Director in 1922 and held the post until his death in 1941.
Wallace, William Greenell (1871-1951) Electrical engineer, second son and third child of ARW.
