Dear Sir,
Herewith you have the East India Railway paper of allotment[.] — I have opened another policy to cover Bates1 shipments to the amount of £200, enclosure of the sum which may remain open on the previous policy[.] — I hope Bates may have more luck in getting his private collection home than Wallace had[.] — I will take care & return to you all the papers in the boxes which you allude to[.]
S. Stevens Esq
Yours truly | W Wilson Saunders [signature]
There is the sum of £130 open on the policy of 23 Oct 1857 — on which the only declaration is £70 on the 3rd Jan1858[.] — You have more declarations for this policy I should think. WWS2
