Dear Sir,
My paper on Iphias was published in the Easter "Journal of Entomology", No. 7. January 1863,1 and I have no separate copies of it or would have sent you one with pleasure. I now send the paper on "Formosa Lepidoptera",2 — & one or two others of general matters, & will forward you copies of my "Notes on Eastern Butterflies"3 as I get them. I certainly sent a copy of my Paper on "Papilionidae" in the Linn. Trans.4 to your father. Did he never receive it, or do you wish for another copy? If so I shall be most happy to send [2] you one.
Mr. W. F. Kirby5 is no relation to the Kirby.6 He is a young man who has taken to the study of Lepidoptera and is now an assistant in the Dublin Museum. The first part of his Catalogue is now printing, containing the Danaidae7. I believe it will be very accurate in the Synonymy, but I fear less so in discriminating species.
I have I think all your papers except the 3rd. series of Philippine Lepidoptera,8 which I shall be very glad of. I have not [3] yet received the plates & papers you have been so kind as to forward me but hope to do so shortly.
Complaints of Mr. Walker's work are very numerous.9 I hope you will establish the genera of Exotic moths on a better foundation.
Give my kind remembrances to your father,
and Believe me, | Dear Sir, | yours very faithfully | Alfred R. Wallace [signature]
