Broadstone, Winborne
August 13th. 1904.
My dear Mr. Casey1
It is indeed a very fine testimonial, & from such a man (a D.D.2) shows great liberality and freedom from the odium Theologium[?]. I congratulate you sincerely, & trust that you now feel well repaid for the anxiety & expense of your son's education. I was also glad to see by his conversation that he likes the work of teaching which is the first of all the needful qualifications.
Will was decidedly in better spirits & health when he left [2] I am trying by means of friends in Municipal Centers to obtain some more congenial work for him.
Perhaps you have some friends at your old place (Nottingham I think) who are in any way connected with the Municipal Authorities, & who would let you (or me) have notice when any appointment of Electrical Engineers is to be made. The difficulty is to hear of these things before [3] it is too late.
Yours very truly | Alfred R Wallace [signature]
