On the 30th March 1870, Mr. Coulcher wrote and sent the defendant the following letter:
Downham Market, Norfolk,
30th March 1870.
Dear Sir, — Being away from home yesterday I did not see a letter of Mr. Wallace's dated 11th2 requesting me to send you my report with papers, &c. until late last night. As to a report I do not know what else to say except signing the papers and explanatory diagrams. Can I do more, I shall be most happy on getting a line from you.
