I have the pleasure to inform you that the President and Council of the Royal Society have awarded you the COPLEY MEDAL for on the grounds of the great value of your numerous contributions to Natural History and of the part you took in working out the theory of the Origin of Species by Natural Selection.
It is hoped you may be able to attend the Anniversary Meeting of the Society (November 30th at 4 p.m.) to receive the Medal in person.
