Dear Sir,
I have no objection to the quotations from my father’s books — which you mention being printed in an a general Anthology of quotations on War provided the publishers also agree but if your book is for the purpose of supporting or advocating some particular doctrine or policy I should like to be informed of its purpose before giving my consent to the use of the extracts you specify*
Yours faithfully | W. G. Wallace [signature]
*In the case of the quotation from p[age]. 22, Vol[ume]. ii of "My Life", you will note that it was originally written for a German Paper but was printed in "The Clarion". It is possible the latter paper may have some rights over it.
P[ost]. S[criptum]. If your book should be published in USA or elsewhere abroad — the publisher’s consent in the foreign country should also be obtained. W.G.W.
