In Feb[ruary]. 1944 you wrote to me about a request by Mess[ieu]rs. A. A. Knopf Inc[orporated]. to use 10,000 words from the M[alay]. A[rchipelago]. by A. R. Wallace in a forthcoming anthology, for which they were agreed to pay $45 and a voucher copy of the work.
I shall be much obliged if you can inform me whether anything further has transpired & how in the matter now stands.
