Dear Mr. Slater
I think you said in one of your letters that you had now found separate copies of some of Spruce's articles. I find that his "Reports" on getting the Seeds & Plants of Cinchona — with a Map,— has much interesting matter, & is not to be had at Eyre & Spottiswoodes — also his Report Notes on the Valleys of Piura & Chira in N. Peru.
These are now only to be had in large "Blue Books" & must be quite unknown to most [2] readers. They are both bound up in the volume of "Opuscula. R.S." which I have. Any separate copies will save copying & be better for the arranging for the Printer. If you have not got them, you may know some one to whom Spruce gave copies of all his papers, & who would part with them for publication.
Yours very truly | Alfred R. Wallace [signature] [3]1
