Dear Sir

Not knowing the Address of Mr. Romyn Hitchcock, author of the paper on "the Ainos of Yezzo, Japan" in the Report of the National Museum for 1890, I write to ask if ^you can kindly give me permission to reproduce the Plate LXXXV of that work, and also whether you can supply me with a photograph direct from the negative for more perfect reproduction.

Should the negative be in the possession of Mr. Hitchcock will you kindly communicate my request to him so as to save [2] time, as I am preparing a volume for the press in which I wish to make use of it.
