Letter (WCP6968.8077)

[1]

December 5, 1899.

Mr. Alfred R. Wallace,

Parkstone, Dorset,

England.

Dear Sir:

In reply to your letter of November 13, I regret to say that I am unable to furnish you with a photograph of the Aino shown on plate LXXXV of Mr. Hitchcock's paper on "The Ainos of Yeso". There is no objection whatever to your reproducing this plate, provided that in doing so you will give due credit to the National Museum as the source from which the illustration was derived. Mr. Hitchcock is not now in Washington, and I am unable to give you his present address. I presume, however, that it will be possible to have a satisfactory plate prepared from the engraving in the volume.

Yours respectfully, | F.W. True [signature]

Executive Curator.
