Hurstpierpoint, Sussex
March 10th. 1868
My dear Sir
I return your notes on the Spizaeti,1 which I think very accurate. I have already sent a much shorter and less detailed note2 to Prof. Newton3 for insertion in the next "Ibis"4, and I should much like your notes to be sent also if you have no objection. I would suggest however that after "Spizaetus borneonensis Gray" you should insert the word "MSS." or [2] "not described", — as, on principle, should that form turn out to be distinct, I should claim for it the name of S[pizaetus]. nanus in preference to S[pizaetus]. borneonensis.
On p. 3. will you add to Spizaetus borneonensis Gray, — MSS. = = Spizaetus nanus Wall. Ibis. 1868. p.14.5
With these exceptions there is not a word I would wish altered.
Believe me | Yours very truly
