Dear Miss Garnett

My friend Mrs. Fisher tells me that you do copying work. I write to you to ask if you can copy a number of letters (about 80) at the Kew Herbarium, which are not allowed to go out.

Mr. Kensley recommended me a lady type writer, but she has work in town, & therefore cannot do these. Her terms were "1/3" per 1000 words, and [2] I presume you will do us copying for the same, as the writing is quite distinct.

If you can do the work & begin at once I will send you particulars.

I should like the copies read on [1 word illeg.] paper of the same of the enclosed, as that is what I always use for my Mss. If you will write in your reply in the same style as your "copy" will be, I can see if it is clear enough. As I [3] shall have to compare the letters with a "Journal" & only put in additional or interesting matter. I therefore must be able to read them over quite easily.

Yours very truly
