My dear Will1
Thanks for Mss. [manuscripts] & notes which I have not had time to look over yet, as I send you 3 more chapters now, which please read a chapter at least every evening as I shall send more in 2 - 3 days and want all (8 more ) finished early next week, or by end of next week at latest to keep my promise.
Yesterday at tea time, alone, [2] Mr. & Mrs. Marshall came in & spent 2 hours with me, & saw the Garden & House — & it all surpassed their Expectation!
I am very busy, cannt [sic] write more now. Want to get this Mss. out of hand as I have then a new Index to Wond. Cent.2 to make, & another article to write.
Your affect. Pa | Alfred R. Wallace [signature]
[3] I note on query of yours about a d instead of a delta. That often happens as when the Greek letters & [sic] used up they go on with English, & when they are used up with numbers!

p 21 6 from bottom Cosmic dust

[4] Ch VI p1 l4. — both of work already done
l6. leave out the ‘But’
p 2 l9 "But the difficulties &c" could not this be run into the next sentence it reads jerkyly [sic] as it stands. Why not connect it to the following sentence by and
p 3 l10 The commencing "But" seems to require some qualifying sentence before it. Why not begin "The idea"
last line corresponding to the forms of the Milky Way, the that apparently refers to Nebulae & not to the shape
p 7 last l[ine] certainly not only outcome
p 10 l14 for years together why not "at regular intervals"
p 9 last but one what are they now supposed to be?
p 12 l12 what is the Chronosphere? should this not be explained here when it is 1st mentioned? It is not made clear how many layers there are & their order without reading here & there & deducing it
P 13 l1 Provinences where mentioned before?
l6 Sporting not a good word
