Dear Sir,

By the same post I have the pleasure to forward to your address a copy of the Dutch translation of your valuable work "The Wonderful Century," published by A.B. Soep of this city, which you have kindly authorised me to translate. Allow we to express the great pleasure that I have felt in rendering your important instructive yet so popular work. I can assure you that the translation has been done with all the respect to the original to which your book may so fully lay claim.

[2] I hope that you will accept the present volume as a slight token of esteem to its author
