G.A. Boulenger Esq.1

Dear Sir

Many thanks for the list of genera (of Rep.[tiles] and Amph.[ibians]) of the Palaearctic Region which I shall give in a note.

I should be very glad if you can furnish me with a similar list for the Nearctic Region.

Also if you can obtain for me the number of peculiar Nearctic genera of Freshwater fishes — names not required. I gave 29 peculiar [2] genera in my first Edition — no doubt obtained from Dr. Günther,2 — and he can no doubt tell you if the same number may stand now, or whether it should be considerably increased or diminished. An approximate number will do.

Yours very truly | Alfred R. Wallace [signature]
