Oldfield Thomas Esq,1
Dear Sir
Mr. Everett has sent me from Borneo the accompanying lists of mammals of Borneo & the Philippines. Will you have the kindness to look over them and cross out any species you think are not good. And also mark, for the Bats of Borneo and for the mammals generally of [2] the Philippines, the species’ which you consider to be peculiar. — No doubt you will be able to do this with little trouble, or I would not ask you. I want to give fairly accurate statements as to the number of peculiar species in these islands for the new Edition of my "Island Life".
Yours very truly, │Alfred R. Wallace. [signature]
