My dear Will1

Waltham Buildings

Holborn Circus

London, E.C.

is the address of the W.W. Compo[ny] in London.

I enclose Mr. Prideaux’s last note, just received — so Badbury must wait till another year. You may perhaps be able to visit his work somewhere when you come home.

The Sluggist and his wife are here now till Monday. He looks very well, and his wife a pleasant young American [2] lady. I am going with them to Corfe this afternoon if it is fine. We are at length revelling in strawberries, as many as we can eat. The garden generally is looking well.

I cautioned Mr. Prideaux not to say how much you found to any of the Bankes’ family, as it might lead them to claim what had been found before they gave permission for more digging & he quite saw the force of it & that is what he refers to in his letter. The old [3] histories mention Roman coins being found at Badbury, — & this with pottery &c. being found in rabbit scratchings, & the fact of its being a Roman Station are all the points be stated.

Excuse more at present.

Your affectionate Pa | Alfred R. Wallace [signature]
