My dear Will1

Further consideration of the S.Wales excursion, and the fitting in of Violet's2 arrangements, will render it I think more convenient, & in every way more agreeable for us to put it off for a week — you coming here for the first week, & we having you with us on the journey to Heriwain & Ystradfellte. Then at the end of the week you come back with us as far as Bath, or Newport, & then back home our several ways. Perhaps you can get your ticket to break the [2] journey at Bath so that your return journey can begin there with it, — or if by the L. & N.W.3 line to break your journey at Newport or any other way. But your regular cheap return via Bath will do, if no better is to be had, and if it comes decidedly less than the singe fare here & the return from Bath to Manchester. We shall have to go via Salisbury to Cardiff or Neath by Gr[eat]. Western.

Let us know at once, if this arrangement will suit you, as it will suit Violet [3] best, she having 2 children coming the time we sh[oul]d. be coming back if you go there (to Wales) first. I want the owner of the House to know as soon as possible.

Yours very affectionately | Alfred R. Wallace [signature]
