My dear Sir
Your letter with its enclosure has arrived quite safely,—it will make our translation a little more like a new edition.—1
“Darwinism tested by Carcinology” might form a second title for the work, such as they used to have to all novels.—2 “Für Darwin” might stand as a distinct line at the top of the title page, cut off by a line from the English title, but I don’t like combining the two languages by means of a conjunction.—
I am working very hard at my Record just now, & expect to have it quite off my hands by the end of the month,3—when I shall resume Fritz Müller & hope to finish him quickly.— I have had my share of work for the last few years & begin to feel it, especially in the eyes.—
I shall hope to hear better accounts of your health when you next write, Meanwhile | Believe me | Your’s always truly | W. S. Dallas.
The German Entomologists are becoming Darwinists,—there is a very nice article by Kiesenwetter in Berliner entom. Zeitschrift 1867.—4
