To John Murray   23 March 18711

Down. | Beckenham | Kent. S.E.

March 23d 1871

My dear Mr Murray

I beg leave to acknowledge the receipt of a Bill for £630, which together with £210 placed to my account, amounts to £840 for 2d. Edit of my Descent of Man.2

I shall be glad if you feel justified in printing 2000 more copies, as I shd be liken to have 12 or whole year to collect information before bringing out a well corrected edition, which will take me one or two months.

Yours sincerely | Ch. Darwin

Many Thanks for some Reviews which I believe came from you.

J. Murray Esq
