My dear Sir

I am very much obliged to you for yr corrections.¹ The name of the inhabitants of the Fiji I’s is spelt in in English many ways, & this has been the cause of my blunder; I think Fijians is best.² At vol 1 p. 29 the name I believe is Leguay.³ Many thanks about the horns; perhaps you will be so good as to insert the right numbers, viz. 33 to the left & 27 to the right.⁴ It is a shame to give you so much trouble, especially as the Index has already cost you so much, but I sh^d be grateful for any corrections, as I suppose some day, I shall bring out a corrected edition.

I did not myself make the index & the gentleman who made it & made it too full, was much hurried at the close.⁵ Whenever you have occasion to write again, but do not write on purpose, I sh^d like to hear how many copies have been printed & sold of your translation in Germany. In England 6500 have been printed.
