1st The chimney was put up in Febry / 41[.]

2nd Previous to the Chimney being there upwards of a Gallon of water has been taken off from the Ledge of the Lantern during the Night, but now there is little or none to be seen[.]

3rd I have seen Ice on the windows before and since[.]

4th It carries off the smoke and steam from the Lamp which prevents the Roof of the Lantern from getting black and the windows from getting so wet[.]

5th The air in the Lantern feels freer than before[.]
