Faraday to Charles Lyell   13 March 1845

R Institution | 13 March 1845

Dear Lyell

I found the enclosed from Mr Phillipps1 yesterday when I came home - & now send it to you – I have acknowledged it to Mr. Phillip[p]s2 – and also sent him a copy of my acknowledgement to the coal office 3[.] I send you the latter that you may see it but let me have it back again for I have no other copy.

Ever Truly Yours | M. Faraday

I do not suppose for a moment that any of these things require a joint notice from us, for my own part I think that is far better avoided unless we are absolutely called upon for it[.] MF4
