Faraday to Charles Lyell   29 April 1853

Royal Institution | 29 April 1853

My dear Lyell

I enclose the 2.19.61. – The Discourse2 dwells on my memory or rather mind more than it ought, but it is as the only one (as I fervently hope) that I shall ever lose of yours3.

Ever Truly Yours | M. Faraday

The payment of this sum for Lyell’s expenses is recorded in Faraday’s petty cash book, RI MS F5 F.
Lyell (1853). Friday Evening Discourse of 18 March 1853.
It would appear that Faraday had been at Brighton. See Faraday to Manby, 22 March 1853, letter 2657, volume 4.
