acknowledge the receipt of and to thank you for your letters of the 22nd. and 26th. May1, reporting on Dr. Normandy’s Apparatus for distilling Sea water2; and to inform you that your request with regard to your Reports being considered confidential, shall be strictly adhered to.

Their Lordships desire me to add that attention will be paid to the recommendation contained in your letter of the 26th. May, to the effect that water distilled by this Apparatus should not be kept in leaden vessels.
