My dear Sir John
When in town on Saturday1 I looked for & found the paragraphs you wished for2 - being a printed paper I sent them off at once & suppose you have received them by this time - The paper will explain itself. There is one copy of it in the 4to form - I trust I did not want to send it to you at the time but being in the 8vo form it may easily have been lost[.]
I wish I had something more to send you but I suppose my equivalent of work is consumed3 - for I ponder & prepare but do not produce[.]
Being within two months of 70 years of age I have no right to grumble[.] On the contrary I rejoice to see around me so many more effectual men[.]
Ever My dear Sir John | Yours truly | M. Faraday
Sir J.W. Herschel Bart | &c &c &c
