Faraday to James Timmins Chance   29 March 1862

[Royal Institution embossed letterhead] | 29 Mar 1862

My dear Mr Chance

I have just received your observations on Walkers observations1 & have sent them off at once to the T House. I shall see the Deputy Master2 on Monday3 and suppose the authorities will then settle the whole matter - I have already said all I have to say on the optical part[.]

There is talk of a red light 4. Do you make red glass? Do you make it in plates - & also in lamp glasses? Do you colour it with copper or gold? Next time I see you I must ask you these & other questions about it[.]

Ever faithfully Yours | M. Faraday

William Pigott.
That is 31 March 1862.
