Faraday to James Timmins Chance   5 May 1862

Royal Institution | Monday 5th. May

My dear Mr. Chance

A Trinity Committee will be at Dungeness on the 14th. May to examine the keepers[.]

So our visit & work may well be on the previous day Tuesday the 13th.

Now there is a train by the 8.30 - as well as the 10.301 - and that would give us two hours more day time to do our work in. I should be glad to have our work done - for on the next day (& after the Committee examination), I want if I can to return home[.] Choose whichever train you like - then let me know & I will write to Appledore for the dog-cart at the proper hour[.]

Ever Truly Yours | M. Faraday

I see that the 8.30 train is knocked off. So I suppose you will say the 10.30 | Yours | MF.

Endorsement: 1862
