H.C. | Thursday, 21.
My dear friend
Though my letter will be exceedingly short still I am sure you would rather have it than not. It will be just three or four notes of remembrance.
Mr. Phillips2 does not leave London this week - there is little or no hopes of Mr. J.H. Baxter coming to London.
Mr. Leighton3 was away last night but will I believe be home on Saturday[.]
Mrs. Geo. Leighton4 with Mrs. Geo. Sandeman5 & three children had a very narrow escape from great danger in respect of their conveyance last night to meeting6 for the shafts broke - the horse almost unmanageable but in great mercy they were saved - Mr Leighton was not with them. Edwd Reid went home with her & there left her recovering in her husbands hands[.]
We are planning to be at Old Buckenham & hoping to have you there on Sabbath the 31st. Perhaps we shall meet next Saturday for a word or two[.]
We are very glad to hear of Mrs. Vincent - Love to you & her from all of us here. Her presence was a great pleasure to us[.]
Ever Affectionately Yours | M. Faraday
Mr Vincent
Mr. Myddleton7 from Aberdeen is in town & glad to see us all as you may think - out last night[.] MF
