Faraday to George Gabriel Stokes1   6 October 1862

Royal Institution | 6 Octr 1862

My dear Stokes.

I think so highly of the honor done me by your University that I am not willing to omit mention of it in the Royal Society list2. Might I ask you to instruct Mr White3 what to say & where in the list attached to my name.

I have recently been named by the King of Italy4 Knight of the Order of St. Maurice & Lazarus which as a mark of respect to him and his reasons I think ought to go in too5. If you think so will you speak of it at the same time[.]

Ever Yours | M Faraday
