Sir

As you do not find my name amongst the Subscribers to the Quekett3 fund you may conclude I do not wish to subscribe to it4. The fact is that I have not much to spare and that I have plenty of calls on me more forcible than the Testimonial - I think that Testimonies are losing their value because of their number[.]

Allow me to remind you that one is not called upon by the usages of Society to answer a circular:- and that declining to answer is accepted as a sufficient indication of ones intention[.]
