With reference to my Letter of the 7th August1 last in relation to the extinction of the lamps at the Low Light in Lundy Light house Tower, and to your observations thereon of the 20th of that month2, I am now directed to transmit to you the accompanying tracing of the mode by which the Lantern is ventilated, and to request your opinion as to whether the extinction of the Lights may be in any way attributable thereto, with a view to prevent a recurrence of a similar accident.
