Sarah Faraday to Thomas Henry Farrer   4 April 1867

[Royal Institution embossed letterhead] | April 4th 1867

My dear Sir

I scarcely know how to thank you sufficiently for your kind note1, it touches me deeply to feel that my highminded & sensitive husband should be so estimated, & I on his part can freely accept the honorarium so liberally & kindly offered by the Board of Trade, for I am sure he would have been much gratified & (indeed he is so though we cannot enter much into these matters with him,) by having yours & the Deputy Masters2 expressions, and I trust you will say all that should be said to shew our sense of the liberality & kindness shown towards him.

We feel much Dr. Tyndalls warm readiness to do all in his power, but in this case it is more consonant with our feelings that such matters shd have been arranged as you mention.

Mr. Faraday wishes his kind regards sent to you in which I beg to join in & remain

My dear Sir | very truly yours | S. Faraday

T.H. Farrer Esqre.

Frederick Arrow.
